Today was busy at Turweston. The day’s best aeroplane, a Cessna Citation CJ3 arrived before I did, and, annoyingly left before I did home. I did, however, arrive just as N365RE, a Cessna 340, did and so managed to get her doing some circuits.
Notably, Silverstone was hosting the Blancpain GT Championship today and so there were two rather large visitors, who did not fly, but still had the ramp appeal factor ticked. These were Pilatus PC-12, HB-FWI, and Cessna Citation Mustang, D-IRIZ. D-IRIZ came in for Blancpain last year and so I have seen her before, as well as hearing her on Friday afternoon as she arrived. Both Pilatus and Cessna have some pretty impressive sounding Pratt and Whitneys!
I now have to do the very British thing of complaining about the weather, albeit beautiful! The lovely weather and sunshine brought with it the aviation photographer’s nemesis: Heat Haze. Annoyingly, there was an awful lot of it too and so photographing aircraft on the ground, was practically impossible!
These were the aircraft that I saw:
