Turweston Aerodrome is a stunning general aviation aerodrome on the borders of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire. I would recommend visiting on a sunny summer’s day and visiting the stunning Flight Deck Café. They do an amazing coffee and walnut cake, and I have heard that the Dundee cake is one of the best this side of Hadrian’s wall!

Recommended spots for aircraft photography
(Map pins are labelled with respective number)
- The end of Runway 27 is excellent when 27 is the active runway, on a hot day, watch out for heat haze, but there should not be too much of a problem with it. There is a small car park next to the wind sock.
- The Flight Deck Café have a lovely balcony which faces over the runway, and is perfect for shots of flying aircraft, however, on a warm day, the heat haze will prohibit photos of any aircraft on the ground.
- This is where one can find all based aircraft and it’s only a short walk from point 2.
